Message from the President
I assumed the position of President and Representative Director on June 26, 2015.
POVAL KOGYO was established in 1957 to manufacture and sell special belts for continuously variable transmission. Soon afterward, the Company started processing Kuraray Povalon sheets to manufacture and sell resin belts.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, when rubber belts were still mainstream products, foreign-made resin belts began to be imported into Japan. We were among the first to offer Japanese-made resin belts for industrial uses, and we have supported Japanese manufacturing ever since.
Based on the customer-focused manufacturing spirit that we have maintained right from the time the Company was founded, we have continued to make Poval Special products, which are custom-made products that we start to manufacture only after receiving an order. Today, these products play important roles in a range of fields and have made the Poval brand synonymous with special-purpose items.
All of the people who underpin the Company have come together as a group of craftsmen who always approach challenges from the viewpoint of the people in production. As one group, we embrace challenges with the aim of continued evolution. The Company is a living creature, with old cells constantly creating new ones, and the process of renewal continues.
As a globally active solutions company, we will keep aspiring to be a corporate group that meets the demands of the times, and we will continue pursuing innovation with the aim of achieving a higher level of growth.
